Klaus Netflix New Movie Ending Explained, Where does Klaus go in the end?

Klaus plot summary

In 19th century Norway, a royal postmaster is fed up with his spoiled, unproductive son Jesper. It's a heartwarming story of friendship, trust and empathy when his father forces him to become the new postman on the isolated, run-down island of Smeerensburg.

Jesper's chance encounter with a lonely woodworker acts as a catalyst to resolve an old feud in the town below, and as the film progresses, so does the concept of Christmas.

 What is Jesper's mission?

Jesper's father, angry and disappointed with his son, sends him to Smeerensburg and instructs him to deliver six thousand letters in a year. The old man makes it clear that if Jesper fails in his goal, he will no longer be the rightful heir to the family fortune.

After arriving in Smeerensburg, Jesper meets Alva, a fisherman turned teacher, and introduces him to the city's toxic situation. He informs her that the town is filled with the bitterness of enmity between two family clans, the Ellingbows and the Krums. Hate outweighs love in Smeerensburg.

  How did Jesper meet Klaus?

Jesper comes across an isolated house far from the city. He sees that the house is full of all kinds of handmade toys. Then he encounters a giant forester named Klaus. Jesper flees, frightened by Klaus's giant size, but Krum falls behind a painting of his child.

Klaus picks up his painting and his interest is piqued. She then asks Jesper to take her to the painting boy's house. That's what Jesper does. Klaus has a gift for the boy. However, it is too big to fit in a mailbox. So he launches Jesper into the air, down the chimney, and into the house. Leaving the gift, Jesper immediately leaves the house.

Jesper learns that the children are ready to write letters to Klaus in hopes of buying a toy. Believing that this is the best way to complete his goal, Jesper convinces Klaus to donate toys in exchange for letters.

Word spreads and many children start sending letters to Klaus. Jesper tells the children that Klaus only gives toys to well-behaved children and that he can tell when a child is misbehaving. The magic of goodness inspires the townspeople to end their bickering. Alva reopens his school where he teaches children to read and write.

What is the secret of Klaus' toy making?

Klaus is running out of toys to give to children. Moreover, she no longer wants to make toys, but Jesper urges her to continue.

The two make skis for a little girl named Margo. Klaus then reveals his secret to Jesper. Klaus says he made all the toys for the future children he once expected to have with his wife, Lydia. However, they were never able to conceive and she died after her health deteriorated.

Klaus decides to make toys for Christmas with the help of Margo and his men who come to help Klaus.

  Is Jesper leaving Smeerensburg?

Everything changed after Jesper stepped onto the land of Smeerensburg. The gray city became bright and happy. He found both a best friend and a soul mate in the form of Alva. As a result, Jesper does not want to leave the place.

But after reaching his goal of sending six thousand letters, his father returns to take him home on Christmas Eve. Through his father, the whole town learns that Jesper had selfish motives behind sending the letter. Meanwhile, Jesper manages to convince his father to let him stay.

  Does Smeerensburg forgive Jesper?
Jesper-crazed townspeople set out to destroy all the toys for Christmas. However, as Klaus and Alva learned about Jesper's reality from the children, they exchanged the toys for tricksters.

Meanwhile, Ellingbow's daughter and Krum's son fall in love. And because of their marriage, the long-lasting feuds of families end forever.

Where does Klaus go in the end?

Jesper and Alva tie the knot and raise two children. He has been supplying toys with Klaus for over 11 years. However, in year 12, Klaus disappears, saying that he will join his estranged wife.

Even though she's gone, Jesper still hopes she'll come back and deliver the toys again.

Klaus is a movie that perfectly emphasizes the power of goodness. It's not the place that's good or bad, it's the people who celebrate the characteristics of a place. When good people come together, enlightenment is possible even in the darkest places.
