Updated or cancelled?
Dragon Age: Absolution is the latest animated fantasy series on Netflix based on the video games of the same name. After finishing all 6 episodes, you might think it has been renewed or cancelled. Here's what we know:
What is Dragon Age: Absolution Season 1 about?
Dragon Age: Absolution is essentially a cookie-cutter fantasy story grafted onto Dragon Age lore, with a diverse cast of misfits in search of a MacGuffin and rescuing a damsel in distress. It's a plot device we've seen countless times over the years, and armed with a frenetic pace, Absolution absolutely runs with it.
Given the nature of the show's content, that could well change if it does good numbers for Netflix.
Netflix generally measures a number of metrics before renewing a show, including how many people watch it initially and then looking at its release rate.
So far, Dragon Age: Absolution has received a pretty good response from critics, but has been more of a mixed bag among audiences, with most of them complaining about the fast pace.
Given the way this show is set up, there's definitely potential for a sequel, especially with the Queen and Miriam's fledgling quest with the big reveal at the end. Despite the nature of the ending, we're going to go ahead and predict that it won't be renewed for a second season.
We'll be sure to update this section with exact details in the coming weeks and months as we know more!
What we know so far about season 2:
However, we will likely see a looming war on the horizon, as Miriam and the others continue their quest as the dark armies gather and are desperate to take the Circulum.
As mentioned above, we predict that this will not be renewed and will result in a cancellation sacrifice, but we will have to wait and see. We'll be sure to update this page as more information becomes available in the future!
