Joining the long list of holiday horror movies is Christmas Bloody Christmas, a horror film about a robot Santa who terrorizes a young woman named Tori during a snowy Christmas Eve.
The machine is actually known as RoboSanta and it is made of military grade materials. There are similar robots, each installed in different stores around the country, presumably to bring Christmas cheer rather than holiday dread to busy shoppers.
As we learn from a news report, some of these robot Santas have developed a malfunction, causing them to revert to their old defense department gear. This makes them angry, so music store owner Tori finds herself having the worst Christmas of her life when one of them comes after her.
Does Tori survive her night of terror? Or does he fall prey to the killer Santa?
What are Tori's Christmas plans?
Tori's plans did not include running for her life on Christmas Eve. As her friend told Robbie, her plan was to have a night out under the sheets with a guy she met on Tinder!
But when Robbie looks at his Tinder date's profile, he recognizes him and tells Tori he's a married man with a family. This is bad news for Tori, as her alternative plan was to stay home alone, drink whiskey and watch A Christmas Story.
However, a new plan is then introduced; Tori and Robbie going out and celebrating Christmas together.
How do Tori and Robbie celebrate?
Tori and Robbie plan to get drunk at a local bar, which they later do. But on the way to the bar, they stop at a local toy store run by married friends Jay and Lahna.
They go into a shop and drink with friends, while in the background an innocent-looking RoboSanta stands and invites people to sit on his lap.
Tori and Robbie decline RoboSanta's offer because they have a bar to go to and more alcohol to drink. But after they leave Jay and Lahna, RoboSanta wakes up and continues to wreak havoc.
What's going on in the toy store?
While Tori and Robbie enjoy a drink at the bar, Jay and Lahna decide to get up to their party. The party is quite "naughty" as the two are very naughty, but their night of fun comes to a quick end when RoboSanta attacks them with an axe.
After hanging out at the bar, Tori and Robbie pass by the toy store when they hear some kind of commotion inside. They think the noise is coming from their friend having sex, and they don't know what they are actually hearing is the sound of their friend being killed.
Is Santa watching Tori and Robbie?
The next destination for Tori and Robbie is the home Tori shares with her sister Liddy and brother-in-law Mike. They get into Robbie's car, which Tori finds useless on the road. But with Santa on their trail, he has more to worry about than just a rough trip home.
When they get home, Tori complains about the party decorations next door, which are brightly lit and apparently doing a lot to raise the neighbor's electric bill.
Still, a high energy bill is the least of your neighbor's problems when it comes to receiving a visit from RoboSanta.
What's happening next door?
Tori and Robbie visit the house and enjoy a few minutes of passion while listening to very loud music. But they're not the only ones heating up the nights, as there's a very different act next door.
Instead of going down the chimney, RoboSanta enters through the neighbors' door and goes on a murderous rampage. The man of the house is first killed by being stabbed in the back with an ax and RoboSanta's boot. When RoboSanta breaks down the bathroom door like Jack Torrance in The Shining and introduces him to his ax, his wife comes over for a meal.
Unaware of their deaths, the couple's son sees RoboSanta and asks him if he gives good gifts. She then proceeds to open her presents, one of which contains (in her words) a "stupid dress".
Unfortunately, he never gets the chance to open the rest of his presses as he is RoboSanta's next victim!
Is Santa coming for Tori?
Their celebration comes to an end when Tori looks out the window and sees the carnage next door. He wakes up Liddy and Mike, and the four of them, along with Robbie, hide in the dark, worried that RoboSanta might set them on fire next.
Not surprisingly, RoboSanta enters through a window this time. Tori and Robbie manage to make it outdoors, but Liddy and Mike aren't so lucky as they become the next victims of the mechanical Santa.
Outside, Tori and Robbie get into a car, but after Robbie starts driving in a panic, he crashes into a car belonging to one of Tori's neighbors. Seeing her car damaged, the neighbor gets angry and yells at Tori and Robbie. His car isn't the only one that's damaged, as Robbie's windshield is also hit in the head by an angry neighbor who is thrown into the car by an angry Santa!
Robbie tries to get away, but his night ends when RoboSanta catches up to him and throws him out of the car. Robbie then axes him in the face, leaving Tori alone to face an angry Father Christmas.
Luckily, he's not alone until the police arrive. He hits RoboSanta and the mechanical man falls to the ground.
Is Tori safe now?
Tori sits in the cop car with the cop and tells him that the adorable lunatic is RoboSanta from the store. The police don't believe Tori's story, but soon realize what she's saying is true when a car pulls up and kills her with a shotgun.
As he drives away, he calls the police to explain what happened.
Unfortunately, when he manages to join up with two other police officers who get into their car, he is treated like a criminal due to his bloody appearance. He is handcuffed and taken to the police station by one of the officers while the other sets off into the night to investigate the murder.
Thankfully, she doesn't believe he's guilty of the murders, but before he can send her on her merry way, an ambulance comes outside. Tori realizes that RoboSanta is behind the wheel, and after informing the Sheriff, he is given a gun to protect himself.
Does Tori survive Christmas?
The sheriff and his fellow officer are killed by RoboSanta when they go out for a fight. Tori is now alone again, which is bad news for her as RoboSanta enters the station to hunt her down.
He hides under the table, but his hiding place is poor. RoboSanta trashes the place because he doesn't respect the furniture and finally finds Tori. He lifts him above his head, but before he can kill him, Tori reaches for the Taser and electrocutes the villainous machine.
He falls to the ground, which gives Tori enough time to get to an ambulance. He gets in and drives away, but unbeknownst to him, RoboSanta has managed to get into the back of the car. He walks through the back door towards Tori. But when he realizes its presence, he purposefully crashes into a parked car, causing RoboSanta to rub his nose on the windshield of the ambulance.
Tori then uses the ambulance to push RoboSanta into the car. Now trapped, there seems to be no way to reach him. To finish it off, Tori sets the car on fire, causing it to explode.
Assuming RoboSanta is gone by now, he heads to his nearby store. He takes a much-needed breather, but he doesn't have time to rest for long as RoboSanta manages to revive himself despite being a mechanical mess. He enters the store with his face torn open, his eyes opening which can send out tracking beams used to locate Tori.
However, nimble Tori grabs a sword from one of the shop windows and drives it through RoboSanta's metal stomach. Sparks fly from his body and he seems to stop working. Tori thinks she has finally defeated him, but is proven wrong when he comes back to life, grabs his ax, and comes after her again.
This time, Tori sets the trash can on fire and throws it at RoboSanta. He falls to the floor, but it's not counted yet. Despite losing the use of his legs, he manages to crawl across the floor and chase Tori. RoboSanta grabs him by the leg, but Tori has time to electrocute the mechanical maniac when a shelf falls on his body. RoboSanta is then blown up into lots of little pieces, which means he's dead now, or so we assume!
Tori walks out of the shop and collapses on the floor laughing or crying (it's hard to tell which). He survived Christmas Eve in one piece, unlike poor RoboSanta. Christmas Day was probably less eventful for him, but we'll never know for sure unless we get a sequel!
